Well, um, what software are you using? Also, use the 'Save as' feature that is in many software... You can save as a JPG, GIF or PNG. If you're using photoshop, you can go "save for web" (something like that) and select the type of format you want, BMP, JPG, GIF or PNG. It's just a matter of looking.
