Matchmaking isn't available in current game builds.
There's been multiple issues with the system in general, main one being absurdly long wait times (think hours) to match against an opponent due to its lack of popularity.

We have ideas on how to bring matchmaking back (primarily using the AI bot as a "permanent" opponent that you get matched against in case there are no humans matchmaking) but there's no estimate on when it will be done.
