You get put in spectators if you're idle for two turnframes.

If you go away from your keyboard without joining the spectators you'll cause a waste of time. That's annoying and thus someone decided to make sure you always remember about joining the spectators when you go AFK.
If you don't join the spectatore while there is an AFK penalty you'll pay that penalty when you would have to play. The toricredits are sent to gkbawnk if I remember correctly. They don't go to the server operator so noone can get easy tc tat way.

1000 tc are quiet much as an AFK penalty if you ask me...

Hm, just to clarify this: If you join the spectators manually with /sp or /spec, you don't have to pay the penalty. You only have to pay it when you forget about joining the specators and have to get speced automatically when you idled for two turnframes.

hmm, there needs to be some kind of info about this either in the toribash FAQ stickied in the BS or somewhere else, this is a fairly new feature, isn't it?
