If you're going for gaming in general, you shouldn't be using a laptop. Sure, there are some good laptops, but the chance is, you could get a desktop that's made for gaming, and is 2 times more powerful than said laptop, and half the price. And another tip, build your computers custom, you can get stuff cheaper overall if you choose to build it yourself.
You're best bet is buying a barebone kit (anywhere from 150-500 dollars) and from there, you can get a new power supply, GPU, Motherboard, more RAM, and other stuff, if you need them. And most of the time, the smaller your monitor, the better you're GPU will perform. Just because of the lower resolution and stuff. I'm not telling you to use a 800x600pix res for gaming all the time, but you don't need to go overkill and get a huge monitor that has 2650x1600 support.
