You cannot sell the item back to the shop but to other players.
To sell it to other players you need to advertize it.
You can do that on the forums, the item market to be precise, or in the IRC #market channel. Chances are that no one will want it in the channel though, the people there prefer dealing with expensive stuff.
You won't get as much as you paid but that's better than nothing, right?
Next time you wanna buy something use the torishop ingame to try items out before buying them.
