[Tutorial]How to do forum to ingame (inprogress)
Hello, sometimes you ask on the forum "How do i watch a replay i downloaded from the forum" and sometimes those pesky responses telling you what to do aren't enough, so today i bring to you...
The Easier Way to Download and Watch Replays (Mac Version)
The Easier Way to Download and Watch Replays (PC Version)
The Easier Way to Download, Transform, and Use Scripts (Mac Version)
STAGE 1: Right Clicking the red title and clicking "Download Linked File As...
STAGE 2: Where you need to save that file
STAGE 2a: Next Folder to go to is "Data"
STAGE 2a: Next Folder to go to is "Scripts, and be sure ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU SAVE YOUR SCRIPT NAME WITH A ".lua" at the end of it! a good example of a script name is "SpeedHacker.lua" THE SCRIPT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU DONT USE .lua AT THE END OF IT!
Firstly, you have to get the coding of the script, to do so click on the "red name".]
STAGE 1: Clicking the red title
STAGE 2: Once you click on the name of the Script you'll come to a page with a bunch of what looks to you, Gibberish. Don't worry its all part of the plan
STAGE 3: Alright now when you see all that text, go ahead and cntrl + a (to highlight all, then cntrl + c to copy it) then go ahead and open up notepad or Jedit or whatever you have. (feel free to download Jedit or Notepad). Once you open that up, get a fresh new default sheet.
STAGE 4: Alright good, you made it this far, not much more! So now, with the stuff (coding) that you copied earlier, go ahead and paste that into your Jedit or Notepad (Cntrl + V or Command + V)
STAGE 5: Alright good going, only a few more minor things, So now you must save your script in order for it to show up in your toribash. Now follow closely on where I'm saving it too.
STAGE 6: After you click on your toribash folder, go to your "data" folder, then go to your "script" folder. these next few photo's will show you exactly what is looks like pay attention to the text in the pictures. Also when saving your script, make sure it has .lua at the end of the name you give it
REMEMBER YOU MUST SAVE YOUR SCRIPT WITH .LUA AT THE END OF IT OR IT WILL NOT WORK
The Easier Way to Downlolad, Transform, and Use Mods (Mac Version)
Hello! I'll start of by saying this tutorial is very similar to the "Script" Tutorial up above, but there are some minor changes that you must note.
STAGE 1: Alright, similar to your script process you start off by clicking the name of the mod you want
Stage 2: You may not notice any changes to what you just did, or maybe you did, but if not, I'll tell you that the blank box in the upper right just got some text in it. You want to highlight all of that text and copy it. (cntrl + a) then (cntrl + c)
Stage 3: Not Bad, now continue on and open up a coding program such as "Jedit' or "Notepad" if you don't have one feel free to download one of them (download links at the bottom of page). Then once you have opened it up, get a blank untitled page and paste your text that you copied earlier into that box. like so
Stage 4: Getting closer, don't give up now! Alright now with your text pasted into Jedit or Notepad now your going to need to save it. So hit the save button wherever it is on your screen, and pay attention to this part. You want to save it to your "mod" folder Toribash/Data/Mods
Stage 5: Now open up your mod folder (if you haven't already done so). When you save BE SURE THAT YOU SAVE YOUR MOD WITH .tbm AT THE END OF IT. you need the ".tbm" for the mod to work! example of a fine name for a mod "Hotlava.tbm" or "Destroyer.tbm"
When you download a mod, you can use it online BUT the other players won't be able to see it unless they download it too!
