Actually, this doesn't seem to work at all (for me at least).
I did everything that I was supposed to:

-Open up 3.72
-Save a blank replay
-Close 3.72
-Open the replay in Notepad
-Insert the
ENGAGE 0; 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0 0 180
ENGAGE 1; 3.500000 5.000000 0.000000 0 0 0
ENGAGE 2; 0.000000 5.000000 0.000000 0 0 0
ENGAGE 3; -3.500000 5.000000 0.000000 0 0 0
NEWGAME 0;1000 10 0 0 0 2 100 1 0 classic 0 0 100 0 0 0 1 0 4 0 0 0 0 0 0
0.000000 0.000000 -9.820000 1 0
-Close Notepad
-Open up 3.72 again
-Setup>Replays>test.rpl
-Yay, 4 players. But wait.
-Edit the replay to make them actually do something
-Save the edited replay
-Setup>Replays>test.rpl
-Oh no! Players 3 and 4 have disappeared!

tl,dr; I can view the replay if I don't change anything, but if I edit it, save it, and view it again, players 3 and 4 are gone.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out.
I had to edit the
ENGAGE 0; 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0 0 180
ENGAGE 1; 3.500000 5.000000 0.000000 0 0 0
ENGAGE 2; 0.000000 5.000000 0.000000 0 0 0
ENGAGE 3; -3.500000 5.000000 0.000000 0 0 0
NEWGAME 0;1000 10 0 0 0 2 100 1 0 classic 0 0 100 0 0 0 1 0 4 0 0 0 0 0 0
0.000000 0.000000 -9.820000 1 0
to fit the mod that I was using.
I thought I could just replace the "classic" with the name of the mod, but it turns out you need to copy the other values from the NEWGAME line in the blank replay that was made with the mod you want.

CAN WE KNOW IF WE CAN PLAY IT ONLINE? 4 PLAYERS WITH OTHERS ONLINE WOULD BE VERY VERY FUN

Did you deleted all the replays?
Do you really think you're in control

Not possible.

Also, don't post in all caps, it's EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
Ironic, huh?

All of them besides the one that I was turning into a 4-player replay.
But I solved my own problem.

This is awesome. I'll be sure to create a number of four player replays while in single player, potentially a lot more creativity involved.
