Is it legal to make a post to bump a thread, then delete the respective post?

That's bannable? I thought delete bumping was making a post, then a few months/days/whatever you delete the post then make a new one that is exactly the same.

A good way to think about this would be:

Any sort of attempt to bypass or find loop holes in simple rules will normally still be regarded as breaking the rule.

yeah that would be a better explanation.

Although the most common example of delete bumping occurs inside the Market where in the user bumps his thread then deletes the post. I guess they both fall under the definition.

Also on a side note it isn't bannable as such. It carries the same 2 point "ignoring rules" infraction/warning as a regular bump and will only result in a ban as a result of an infraction point build up or in serve cases of multiple offences may lead to a direct ban.
