Hello Toribashians!
This tutorial will guide you step by step through setting up and hosting a successful bet server.
Hosting a bet server is not as simple as it sounds. There are many commands, responsibilities, and risks involved. You may lose TC, nobody may join, or betting may be slow. However, with experience, hosting becomes much easier and more profitable.
Before hosting, understand this clearly: running a bet server is a gamble.
When to Host
Timing matters. First, check how many players are currently online.
Type in global chat:
/list
You should see a list like this:
EXAMPLE
If there are 50+ players online, this can a good time to host. Anything lower significantly increases the risk of a dead server.
Once player numbers look good, you can begin setting up.
Commands
Server Setup Commands
Type the following in chat:
/jo bets
• If the room does not exist, it will be created and you will become operator. • If already inside and you want to rename the room:
/room set bets
After creating the room, enter these commands:
/setowner [password]
• Choose a password you will remember.
/owner
• Re-enters operator mode after reconnecting.
/house [your nickname]
• Sets you as the house.
/maxclients 28
• Do not increase this value. Higher values may ghost the server.
/maxrake 100000
/desc bets [TC amount] DP
• Appears in the server list. • Update this whenever the decap prize changes.
/motd 1k DP | 5k min SB | 5k min raise
/set mod aikidobigdojo.tbm
/rt
• Only use if a player missed their self-bet, the match glitched, or someone went AFK. • Both players must agree.
/minbet 100
/betframes 109
/decapprize [amount]
• Only add your own TC once 10–15+ players have joined.
Colour Notes
You can make your /motd and /desc stand out using colour codes.
Example:
<^02 bets 50k TC DP>
• Colour codes range from 01 to 10
• Numbers below 10 require a leading zero
• You can mix colours per word or letter

Broadcast
Broadcasting
Once your server is fully set up, you can globalize it. Broadcasting will: • Display a pop-up to active players
• Notify the Toribash Discord
• Cost 10,000 TC Broadcast example:
/jo bets for [amount] DP – high action!
• 15k+ TC is recommended
• It does not need to be massive, just tempting
• Broadcasting cannot be undone
• Do NOT spam broadcasts
• Spamming may result in infractions or bans
How to run your bet server
Running the Server
Once players join, your responsibilities increase. You must manage the queue, nudges, bets, and disputes.
Common commands:
/bet [amount] [nickname]
/nudge [nickname] [position]
• Position ranges from 1 (top) to 28 (bottom).
/cancelbets
• Refunds all bets. • Use this if someone bets incorrectly or misses a self-bet.
/rt
• Use after /cancelbets if required.
/mute [nickname]
/unmute [nickname]
/muteall
• Operators and staff will not be muted.
/kick [nickname]
• Player can rejoin.
/ban add [nickname]
• Permanently removes a player.
Less common commands:
/earnings [nickname]
• Shows the profits/loss of that player.
/tourneystats
• Operators and staff only.
/minbelt [amount]
• Sets a Qi restriction.
/cp [message]
• Displays a message in the centre of all players’ screens.
Nudges
How Nudges Work
Nudges are the core mechanic of a bet server. Self-bet pricing: • 5k = bottom of the self-bet line
• Every additional 5k moves the player higher When players type:
SB 5k
You nudge them accordingly.
Sponsors
Players may sponsor others.
Example:
15k sponsor on [nickname]
• Sponsor nudges follow the exact same rules as self-bets
• No exceptions
Decap Prize
Decap Prizes
To win a decap prize, a player must: • Decapitate the opponent
• Win the match
If the decapping player loses, the prize stays.
Players can add TC to the decap prize: • 1k TC = one nudge
• These nudges sit below self-bets and sponsors (you don't need to include this to your server as it can make it more complicated to run)
Rigging
Rigging is when two players agree to split a decap prize or even bets. • This is rule-breaking.
• This is bannable. If you suspect rigging: • Save the replay
• Screenshot the entire client
• Report the incident Correct screenshot example:
EXAMPLE
If staff are present:
/whisper [nickname]
Co Host
Co-Hosting
Co-hosts are optional and should only be chosen if fully trusted. They help when: • You go AFK
• A dispute occurs
• Extra moderation is needed Assign a co-host:
/op [nickname]
• Update them privately so it's easier to keep track:
Main income sources: • House rake (10%)
• Betting on players (higher risk)
House rake is slower but consistent. As the server grows, matches can earn 15k+ TC if managed properly.
Every bet server eventually dies. Players leave, bets slow, and decap prizes get claimed. This is normal.
Hopefully this helps players who want to start hosting and those who want to improve.
This thread will be updated if anything changes.
If anything is incorrect or missing, post below.
Thanks for reading!
house rake is actually 9% of the losing bets! 1% of the tc is meant to be sunk , the rest is split between the winners
also sidenote: i remember back when i hosted religiously if the playercount was around 300 it was a waste of time n now we down to 50 as acceptable, man the times have changed ;-;
