so your version should be 3.1-8, right? you can look which version you have by issuing:

dpkg -l toribash

Ah yeah I did that and forgot to write it to you... forgot my terminal had two tabs open. I have version 3.1-8, yes.

hm, weird... so if you go to multiplayer does it say "refreshing server list"?
EDIT: if not or if you think the server list is not the right one, please run the following:

md5sum ~/.toribash/servers.txt

... and post the sum here.

The error is still there. #38 on Windows is bncy::TaiChi, which shows up as #32 on mine.

Here's the sum:

okay, found the error... the auto updater simply doesn't work because it cannot write to /usr/games/toribash/ - i will try to fix this... hopefully in a "clean" way ;-)

You are welcome. Would the problem be solved if the auto updater had the correct permissions to the file, or if it had chmod abilities (or perhaps the error is incorrect permissions to begin with)?
