How to make Stainless Steel in GIMP
i found a way to make stainless steel in gimp, it can be useful to do alot of things including texturing and logos/banners

First off, make an image in gimp any size, and fill it with light grey
please excuse the brush :s

now that you have that, go to filters-noise-rgb noise


and make the settings exactly like this:


Make sure independent rgb is unchecked.

now you should have something like this:


next, go to filters-blur-motion blur


do these settings:


now use the gradient tool going fg to transparent of the same color you filled it in with (light grey) as bi-linear and make a gradient going from the middle down a bit and then you're done!

it should look like this:

i hope this tutorial helped you all.
leave suggestions of ways i can further make this tutorial better
Put a layer of white and generate a lens flare to make it more realistic. Kind of dull. :/

Your doing pretty much the same thing but with different colors / purpose. :|
