[Tutorial]Just a little tip
Hey.
First, id like to point out that this will not be an extensive tutorial.
This is for Photoshop users, and it requires you to have atleast a little experience with the program.
Some of you probably know this trick already, but here goes.
How to create advanced shapes in photoshop (your imagination is the limit)

First step :
Create a simple shape, either draw one of your own or use a preset from the built in custom shapes, dont go for alot of colors or details at this point.

Second step :
Go to edit and choose rotate, scale or whatever you like really (play around with different distortions of the shape)
example : choose rotate.
hold shift and rotate to get a 15 degree rotation, right click the shape, hold shift (to keep the shape ratio) and grab one of the corners to make it sligtly smaller. (play around with the rotation point as well, when in rotate, the little anchor in the center of the shape, rotation revolve around that 1, so move it around, if it is a small shape and u cant "grab" the anchor to move it, just hold alt key
just accept the changes you did to the shape (make sure you do it all in one session, do not rotate, then accept, then go into scale and accept, you want all the changes in "one edit" so use right click on shape to change.

Third step : well, this is the whole trick really, after the shape is edited, hold down : shift+ctrl+Alt and press t, this will make a new layer with the same shape but with the edit you did to it once again, so, it will be rotated 15 degrees more than the first, and again be sligtly smaller, keep holding the keys and press t to get the number of shapes/layers you want.
Remember, this is just a quick tip where the outcome is based on what you do with it, use it to play around without any specific result in mind.
Again, playing around with photoshop and it`s functions is probably the best way to both learn and give your works a personal touch.

This is a simple example using this :
I used a crescent half moon custom shape, standard in photoshop, to achieve this.
