How do u make differant pieces of the head glow on gimp?

A good way to make things glow is using the "Supernova" effect under Lighting.

that still doesnt make it glow
you have to put a bunch of them
the tutorial actuly works WITHOUT supernova with all the shining effect on your image

ye thx for the link but i want to know how to make a certain place glow (like the eyes). not the whole image.

just make the eyes alien glow

Well, you could always manually just take a soft brush and go over it. Soft brushes make a cool lighting / glowing effect.

You can do it easy, by painting on a new layer, the do Alpha to selection>Shrink selection> Feather selection> Gaussian blur.
Then you trick and play with layer modes, divide and dodge makes some good glow.


Don't even get close to supernova. It is an awful filter.
