I have no clue why this is happening or if this is a bug or something but whenever I try to press Esc to open the menu it doesn't respond. I've tested escape on some websites so I know my keyboard isn't broken, I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Toribash with the same results. I'm not getting an error message or anything else. It's just that the game isn't responding to it. Would love some help soon as Toribash is unplayable for me currently.

It's either your keyboard is not working, or some glitch is happening. If its a glitch, you can try re-installing toribash.

I appreciate the quick reply but did you read my actual post? I've already re-installed Toribash and I've tested my keyboard on various sites so I know that it works,
I would like to know if anyone else is having similar problems and why it might be happening. If it helps I played a couple weeks ago on the same computer and it had no problems at all.
