I doubt you have the same problem with windows 8 that I did but, when I upgraded to windows 8 from 7 toribash crashed after like 5minutes of opening. I downgraded to windows 7 today and it works okay so far...For older pcs like mine there may be issues with compatibility and toribash, even with the compatibility simulator for older versions 8 possess. Maybe drivers, updates, and maintenance may help, but the possibility you'll need to downgrade may be up in the air.
